Sandbach Vs Overdevelopment

Dont Forget to Register Your Objections on the Council Planning Portal by 18/2/25!

Welcome to the Sandbach Vs Overdevelopment website.

We are a group made up of residents, local businesses and local politicians campaigning against the high volume of house building applications currently being planned or submitted that will have a profound impact on the town and its immediate surrounding areas. These developments will have far reaching implications both individually and collectively and this group has been formed to challenge these to ensure that the best interests of our town and its residents are taken into account.

Sandbach itself has seen significant housing building take place over the last decade plus major developments already approved such as the Capricorn Business Park by junction 17 and the Anwyl development off the Waitrose roundabout.

These developments will exacerbate the numerous infrastructure issues currently facing Sandbach – traffic congestion, difficulties securing health appointments and  over subscription in the primary and secondary school sector.

Whilst we are in favour of planned development which conforms to the local plan, we as a campaign group are determined to resist  unplanned and unsuitable development in poorly selected green field areas of the town. It must be understood that unrestricted development will not just affect residents in the vicinity of the development but all residents.

Sandbach Against Overdevelopment has wide support from within the town and beyond. Hundreds of people have requested that we keep them informed of developments and others are following our recently launched Facebook page. This is a clear indication that the people of Sandbach want to be kept informed of what is going on and that this was not previously happening.

Please join us in our campaign to protect our beautiful town and its surrounding countryside. When it gone, its GONE for good!
